Permission and security


The Claromentis permission system is comprehensive, easy to use, robust and provides a view on company data that meets each users requirements.

Each user is automatically provided with View and Edit permissions on files or folders according to their membership of various Groups, Roles, Extranet Areas and by virtue of any individual rights granted to them. Allocating permissions at a folder level is straightforward and uses a clear dialogue box :

By using a system of check out and check in, authorised users can work on files, allowing other users to view previous versions, aware that a new version is being worked on. When a changed file is checked back in, this becomes the latest version automatically. Authorised users can view the revision history, looking at previous versions and rolling back to any previous version if required.

Additional permissions are given to trained documents administrators, who administer the system to maintain a coherent and well structure document repository.
